In June 2010 in the town of Plainview, Texas, McCartney Taylor found the first specimens of Plainview E in a pile of rocks located in the backyard of an elderly woman. The total known weight of the Plainview E is 1250 grams. Specimens are covered by a dark brown colored weathering patina with residual fusion crust. The interior of the Plainview E is dark brown as well. The Plainview E is classified as and ordinary chondrite and may be paired with other Planview stones.
