From my notes in 2008: “In 2004, an artifact hunter, Luis Bruschini, found the first Cerro Mesa meteorite specimen. The fall was in the Santa Cruz province of Patagonia, Argentina. Possible fall from 1998”
From the lat/long and from mapping programs. The location is ~9 miles WSW of Pico Truncado. In an area known as “Los Cerros” which is ‘the hills’ in English. However, using Peakery, a website for mountain climbers. I found, just south of there, and just 12.8 miles SW of Pico Truncado is a hill known as ‘Cerro Mesa’ ! So by Jove, I think we have it!

Given the coarseness of the original lat long, I’m inclined to give this one.
So Luis Bruschini is a known meteorite hunter, and was at the 2008 Ensisheim Meteorite show according to tagged pictures I found.
The crust of the meteorite is black and fresh. I definitely can believe the 1998 fall story. The rusting inside tells me it can’t be too fresh.
