On July 21, 2002, several eyewitnesses saw a meteorite fall over Lesotho, in southern Africa. The fall produced a strewn field of 7.4 km in length. Specimens, weighing a total of about 30 kg, have been recovered from the fall. The Thuathe meteorite is classified as an ordinary chondrite H4.
