The first Plainview meteorite was found in 1917 near Hale county, Texas. Specimens contain carbonaceous inclusions and about 27% iron. The total known weight is over 700 kg. It is a classified as an ordinary chondrite H5 with shock level of 3. The Plainview is a regolith meteorite.
